(garden name) Lactiflora Group. Late. The original of our Old Farmstead Peony, so called for reason of uncertain identity and that it is found at many former house-places across rural America or handed down as a family heirloom. Anemone to incipient full Double form.
Details:
OLD FARMSTEAD
(Originator Unknown) Late. A loose Anemone form showing a tendency to full double (extra petals at center comparable to the outer petals). Light pink to blush outer petals, center segments generally creamy to white; fragrant. Strong grower, makes many stems and a widely spreading bush. New shoots emerging from the soil are bronze color. Item 0023 is seed parent of Garden Treasure. We have recently received information which suggests these may be of the peony long grown for the United States florist trade under the name, "Queen Victoria", or perhaps a child thereof. We will be giving this information further study
