BeeLoved® 'Maestro'
Originator: (Auten, 1955)
Group: Lactiflora
Bloom period: Late
Bloom week: 6
Flower form: Semi-double
Height: Tall
USDA Zone: 2 to 8
Item number: 2350

Details:

The semi-double, large flower opens dark red, almost double on well grown mature plants. The durable color holds well as the bloom matures. Many rows of large petals, notched and wavy, loosely arranged, reveal a ring of bright yellow filaments and stamens. A decidedly unfinished, informal form, yet an attractive flower that draws one's eye from afar. Very satisfying plant habit, vigorous and quick increase, dependable bloomer with plenty of color on a stately, large bush. Wiry, tall stem is of bronze red color, holds flower well above the foliage canopy, spreading with rain in the opened flower, best with light support in the viewed landscape. A peony with a splendid combination of favorable attributes, worthy of a spot in the perennial border and a living garden.
